Usually, when an automaker comes up with something that’s different, it has to immediately prove that it’s still a car. That’s the job of the marketing teams. Give them a budged, a mailing list and a Youtube channel, and the public perception of any car will quickly turned around.
One car in desperate need of marketing attention is the Renault Twizy, a two-seater electric car. If this was only a marketing gimmick, a couple of videos would have been enough, but Renault probably hopes to sell tens of thousands a year, so the Internet has to be littered with good reviews and quarry ads.
What’s one of the main faults with the EV is that it could be deemed too small for a normal-sized person. Cue the French rugby team, the so called “Le XV de France”. These guts are huge, training in one of the toughest sports out there since they were 4 or 5 years old in some cases.
The idea is that if they found the Twizy a fun and practical car, than so will you. And through the magic of editing we get to see nothing but smiles. But will they trade their Audi and BMWs?
