French Policeman Loses License for Doing 186 KM/H on Bike

A French police officer was flashed doing 186 km/h (115.6 mph) on a 110 km/h (68 mph) road sector near Rioz, Haute-Saône, Eastern France. The road safety officers who caught him officially clocked 176 km/h (109.4 mph), but this speed was more than enough for the suspension of his driving permit.
Asked for the reason why he was speeding, the police officer, 46, president of a local motorcycle club, responded that he had troubles with his bike and got separated from the group he was riding with, and was trying to catch up. He was no on duty, riding his own machine and wore civil clothes.

We could not tell whether the other law enforcement officers bought the story, but one thing is sure: his license was suspended right away and he continued his journey as a pillion.

He will attend a judge hearing and most likely will get several alternative penalties and a hefty fine (with possible confiscation of the motorcycle). Good to see that there still are policemen who enforce the law even when the trespassers are their own colleagues. Via EstRepublicain.
