Oh the weird and wonderfully creative Chinese, who find ways to brake the law in order to do business. Associated France Press recently reported that two Chinese men were arrested at a French checkpoint near Strasbourgh last month with over 1.8 million euros in their car.
According to the French customs officials, the money was stashed inside the backs of the car seats. In case you were wondering what sort of car seat that is, we’ll tell you it belongs to an Audi A6.
The authorities did say that the banknotes ranged from 20 to 500 euros and as you can see, there’s quite a lot of them, 38,000 in fact. Fortunately, the backs of the A6 seats had hard covers which wouldn’t sag from the bulk of the cash, so we think the French were probably tipped off.
The two Chinese ‘smugglers’ lived in Portugal, took a plane to Paris and from there wanted to go by car to Austria. Knowing how they operate, we’d say they wanted to buy something with cold hard cash.
