French Lamborghini Gallardo Taxi Was a Treat for Le Mans Fans

Just when we though this year's edition of the 24h of Le Mans had become vault material, we came across the pair of images below, which show what was probably a treat for those who attended the magical motorsport adventure in France.

As you can see, we're dealing with a Lamborghini Gallardo that has put on a taxi attire. And while we have no info on the matter, these two photos have led us to believe we're dealing with an actual cab here - as in not the kind of Cars and Coffee-impressing faux velocity taxi.

The photos, which come from Hub's P. Photography, were snapped in Saint-Saturnin, France, a town that happens to be 15 minutes of driving from the Circuit de la Sarthe. Then there's the timing, with the photos having been taken during that weekend in June.

As it happens on many Gallardo-related occasions that see these Raging Bulls being used for various all-custom purposes, this is one of the early cars. While you can easily recognize it thanks to its light clusters, this also means the V10 in its middle is the 5.0-liter mill, not the facelift's 5.2-liter heart.

Do keep in mind that we aren't by any means talking about the world's only go-fast taxi. Heck, this isn't even the only Gallardo taxi out there, even though the other example we've shown you involved an Uber car seving customers over in Singapore.

In fact, we've managed to enjoy a ride in one of these high-velocity taxies too. It was 2014 and BMW had invited us to Austria to drive the M4, but that's where we came across a... Mercedes-AMG CLA45. It was a world first, with the Affalterbach cab being driven by Sabine, who owns a taxi company and used to drive a Porsche 911 in her "private" life.
