French Fighter Jets Kill 4,800 Chickens

Last week was an extremely sad one for the Gallus gallus domesticus family, who lost 4,800 of its members and one clean sweep made by the Armee de l'Air (ALA), or French Airforce, over a farm in Pleguien, in the Brittany region.

This is the story as told by French farmer Etienne Le Mehaute to The Sun. On Tuesday afternoon, as the family was having its lunch, all hell broke loose and an incredible sound started shaking the ground. Thinking the worst, the French farmer didn't have time to react to the two fighter jets of the French Airforce which passed in a blink of an eye for the farmer.

For 4,800 of the 68,000 birds he grows on the farm, the fighter jets were the last things they saw. It was their last blink of an eye, as the incredible sound caused them to drop dead.

"We were having lunch when there this enormous roar of engines. We could feel the shockwaves down our back. The chickens were absolutely terrified and thousands dropped dead. We piled their bodies up and there were some 4,800 who did not pull through," the farmer told The Sun.

Le Mehaute now seeks revenge for the dead birds. A revenge which is worth EUR14,500 ($18,400) in his eyes. A revenge which is worth a lawsuit.

The French authorities responded so far by acknowledging there were indeed fighter jets in the area, but they say the planes didn't brake the low-flying interdiction.

According to Ministry of Defense spokesman Frederic Solano, an investigation into the mass murder of the chickens has been launched.
