Two French men with a spirit of adventure, decided to take a kei-car-based Citroen C-Zero around the world. Last time we checked, Xavie Degon and Guy Antonin were making their way through China, after having passed through Japan.
Now, after having passed through south-east Asia, the two are in Russia and are drawing ever-nearer to their home destination - Strasbourg, France. They are very close to proving that even a regular EV can be coaxed around the world without too much trouble - in fact, having to stop for electricity makes you meet new people and experience the local culture of any given area differently.
Furthermore, with some 2,700 km (1,650 miles) remaining, their trip which began in February is very close to ending. Now, another advantage of driving an EV around the world is the fact that it’s going to cost you next-to-nothing - the two Frenchmen paid only €250 / $310 for the entire trip.
To end, we feel that it is adequate to present their philosophy: “If an electric car can travel around the world, everyone can use for their daily commute.”
