Lexus is an acknowledged and renowned leader in terms of quality, luxury, and comfort. Yet, some people only have eyes for its few yet feisty high-performance exploits. Both in the real world as well as across the virtual realm.
Over in Canada, for example, the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is one of the last naturally-aspirated V8-powered sedans one can buy new right now, and of course, the 5.0-liter 2UR-GSE mill is both throaty and ready to show its prowess with digs and rolls. But over across the virtual realm, things are even cooler, it seems.
At least as far as Abimelec Arellano, the pixel master better known as abimelecdesign on social media, is concerned. In between “last week’s lunch breaks,” the CGI expert put together this dreamy Lexus LFA, “just pretty much free-styling it.” So, the serious two-seat collectible sports car that ended production almost a decade ago finally got its virtual mojo back on with a bit of a slammed attitude.
But that was not all, as the author also mixed “a little bit of the early Japanese D1GP drift car (atmosphere) with a few other styles” and wanted it both “clean and visually loud.” The latter part was easily achieved with a customized aerodynamic body kit, a flashy livery, as well as a “sparkle purple paint.” So far so good, JDM fans would eagerly say. Alas, that is not all, because this LFA also features a little bit of 1980s Americana muscle car as a fresh twist.
So, probably just to be sure that no automotive fans will lack the chance to run amuck crying outrage, the virtual artist also added one last “favorite detail – rear louvers.” Well, the author understands very well that such an upgrade has nothing to do with the LFA design yet here it is, as “in practice flows excellent,” according to his opinion. Naturally, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder!
