French manufacturer Renault showcased at the Frankfurt Auto Show the brand new Fluence ZE, an all-electric concept that previews the production model of the car. The concept is powered by an electric motor that develops 95 horsepower and 226 Nm of torque and comes with a lithium-ion battery that ensures a range of 160 km.
There are three recharging modes available, a standard charge that takes between four and eight hours, a quick charge (around 20 minutes) plus an immediate solution that needs three minutes - also known as Renault's Quickdrop rapid battery exchange system.
The Fluence ZE is 4,820mm long, has a wide track of 1,672 mm. Additionally, it features photovoltaic cells located on the panoramic roof, dashboard and rear parcel shelf. The car is painted in Atmosphere Blue and uses LED technology at both the front and the rear. The design of the headlights follow the same cues as the other electric concepts designed by Renault and comes with green stripes perfectly representing the green sector it is addressed to.
"Its identity as an electric vehicle is expressed through the graphic treatment of the cooling ducts, the fins of which are reminiscent of heat transfer surfaces, and this theme is echoed in different ways in the design of the headlights and motor cover," Renault said in a release.
Other features include a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) touchscreen for displaying multimedia information, climate controls and volume controls mounted on the central rear armrest, stop/start button, and new touchscreen Samsung Jet phone that also features a hands-free function.
