Aston Martin revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show the company's latest contraption, the new Rapide, which represents the brand's first production four-door sports car. The Rapide will go on sale in early 2010 and will be sold globally through Aston Martin's 125 dealership network. Official prices will be revealed in the next few days at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

"Rapide is the culmination of the Aston Martin range of sports cars, a car that seals the revival of a truly admired marque. There is now an Aston Martin for every taste and for every use," Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez, said.

"With Rapide, the entire family can enjoy their Aston Martin together in unison, in an invigorating yet comfortable environment, sitting low, with plenty of visibility from every seat and with new levels of comfort, refinement and entertainment."

As for technical details, the car is powered by a hand-built 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This means the car is able to go from naught to sixty in 5.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 188 mph (303 km/h). The engine is mated to a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic 2 six-speed gearbox with electronic shift-by-wire control system.

The Rapide is shoed with Bridgestone Potenza tires, 245/40 R20 front and 295/35 R20 rear, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Feature highlights include DSC, ABS, EBD, EBA, Traction Control, HBA, Positive Torque Control (PTC) and Electronic Park Brake (EPB).

Inside, the manufacturer used full grain leather with Iridium Silver center console outer finish. It comes with cruise control, Bluetooth support, electrically-operated front seats, memory front seats and exterior mirrors, heated front and rear seats, LED map lamps and ambient lighting, battery conditioner and 1000 W Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system with ICEpower technology.
