Frankfurt 2013: Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati in Record Grey

The Fiat 500 Abarth is a hot hatchling that makes very little sense at first glance. A Renault Clio RS or Ford Fiesta ST are cheaper and more practical. But this is an incorrect way to look at things.

Most hot hatches are lusted after by people who come from below in the model range. "I have a Clio, and it would be cool if it had 200 hp" types of people. But Abarth customers mostly come from above in the model range, people who can afford Ferrari and Lambos, but want a special little car.

One of the special models Abarth offered was the 695 Tributo Maserati, or Maserati Edition. They made 499 of these based on the convertible finished in the same color, Pontevecchio Bordeaux, a deep cherry red.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Italian dropped another limited edition Tributo Maserati, this time finished in Record Grey and featuring a black fabric roof instead of a grey one. The Neptune 17-inch wheel which look just like the ones on your Granturismo or Quattroporte have been been painted in a deep gloss black.

All of the 49 cars in the limited edition series will be identified by a plate placed inside the car with sequential numbers.
