Frankfurt 2013: 2014 Porsche Panamera TechArt GrandGT

Probably the most significant car at the TechArt stand in Frankfurt is this, the GrandGT. It's built on the new Panamera Turbo, which is already a good looking car, but features key changes to make it look sporty.

New side skirts and wheel arches mean that this car is now a massive 84mm wider at the back and 42mm wider at the front compared to the regular Turbo. It also has redesigned bumpers, a vented carbon fiver hood and TechArt sports exhaust. The power increase itself is not something to write home about, 580 hp from the 4.8-liter V8, but it's the German way to move confidently in small, incremental steps.

What we really like about the car is the orange carbon fiver used throughout the interior and TechArts's Multifunctional Daytime Running Light System which combines daytime running lights, navigation lights, parking lighter and indicators in one system.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
