The car that football moms looking to buy a non-SUV Mercedes had been waiting for came when the new B-Klasse was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Despite not being as aggressive as some of the other Mercedes models displayed there, the new B-Klasse got plenty of attention.
The new compact model brings with it changes like direct injection and turbocharging, a new diesel engine, a new dual clutch transmission, new manual and fresh assistance systems.
The B-Klasse’s petrol engines come with a 1.6-liter displacement, as the B 180 with 122 hp/200Nm and the B 200 with 156 hp/250 Nm. As for the new four-cylinder diesel engines, we’ll get the B 180 CDI with 109 hp/250Nm and the B 200 CDI with 136 hp/300 Nm.
The B-Klasse comes with radar-based collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist as standard, which lowers the risk of rear-end collisions, a first in this segment.
