Four Tron Legacy LightCycle Replicas Still Available

The team at Parker Brothers Choppers was asked to create a special custom bike specifically for the Disney’s TRON: Legacy, a 3D motion picture that is scheduled to hit worldwide cinemas in mid-December. Back in July, we were reporting an eBay sale involving five one-off replicas of this incredible machine, which were then offered for $35,000 each.

However, recent info that surfaced in the media reveal the team has actually built a total of ten LightCycle motorcycles, and that there are still four units available, so if you want one you better act fast.

The interesting part is that the Florida-based bike shop has apparently raised the price on these units to $55,000. For this you get your own street-legal Tron LightCycle featuring a steel frame, fiberglass bodywork and a V-twin engine from a Suzuki TLR1000, brakes and other
functional bits. The bike weighs 474 pounds (215kg) and is just over 100 inches (254cm) long and 23 inches (58.4cm) wide.

Customers have a choice between actual gauges and an iPad dock that displays vital statistics on the iPad's touchscreen. The rider sits, or better said lays, 28.5 inches (72.4cm) off the ground, but its makers say it rides like any other sportbike.

Despite the fact that the bike looks like it drove straight off the movie screen, it’s not exactly a replica or recreation as you may think, since the LightCycles in both Tron films were virtual. "We basically used the images we could get off the web in order to make the bike,” said Jeff Halverson of Parker Brothers Choppers to Wired.com. “Keep in mind, no one ever made this bike before.”

However, if you don't have the money to get a Tron LightCycle of your own, you can at least "ride" it in the Tron LiveCycle game. But if you do get your hands on one, you might at least get a motorcycle suit to match from UD Replicas.
