Great products mean nothing without proper promotion. You can have the best car in the world but if you keep it locked in a garage, nobody will care or even know about it. That’s what Koenigsegg is perfectly aware of and one of the reasons behind their recent expansion plans on the North American continent.
Jens Sverdrup, the North American sales director for the Swedish company said in a recent statement that the company he represents will have five authorized dealers in North America by the end of this year. Since they already have one at the moment in New York, four more need to open their gates to ultra-rich customers looking for the ultimate speedsters.

One of them will be Lake Forrest Sports Cars of Chicago that was already announced as a Koenigsegg selling point while another one will be open in Calgary, Canada. To be more precise, we’re talking about Lamborghini Calgary that has been doing quite well in the Alberta region lately.

So what cars can you buy from these dealerships?

The company has only 3 models in its portfolio at the moment. That doesn’t mean you can buy one however. They are selling the brand new hybrid Regera, the Agera RS and the iconic One:1.

The One:1 is the world’s first Megacar which means it has an engine rated at 1,000 kW or roughly 1,360 HP. The trick is, the whole thing also weighs 1,360 kg (2,998 lbs) so it has 1 hp per kilo, hence the name. The problem is, only 6 were scheduled for production and all of them are spoken for, despite a rumored price tag the is close to $2,000,000.

The only two cars you can try and buy are the newly introduced Agera RS and Regera. The Agera RS has 1,160 HP and will be built in 25 units worldwide. That can only mean that you really have to hurry up if you want to get one.

On the other hand, the Regera with its 1,500 HP hybrid drivetrain will be built in 80 units and that’s the one you want because it will go up to 250 mph (400 km/h) in about 20 seconds.
