It seems that the world of street-legal track toys is about to get richer, as the Blue Oval is considering building a road-legal incarnation of its new Formula Ford racer, a vehicle that would battle the likes of Ariel Atom and BAC Mono.
A senior Ford executive recently gave EVO the information and although he didn’t offer a precise answer when asked about the price, he explained that the car would cost "well under £100,000 ($160,080 / £124,990)" which would make it "a bargain next to the BAC Mono."
We’ll remind you that Ford recently released a video of the car lapping the Nurburgring in 7:22 and that vehicle had street-destined features such as wheel covers and indicator lenses.
As for the specs, the Formula Ford uses an 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine pushed to 205 hp, which allows it to cover the 0 to 62 mph in under 4 seconds and offer a top speed of 158.8 mph (255.5 km/h).
