We have fabulous news for eSports fans! The biggest prize in the history of the sport will be awarded in Las Vegas, after a race that will happen in January 2017.
Not only will the gamers have the chance of winning a massive prize, but they will have the unique opportunity of racing with drivers from the Formula E championship. We are referring to actual drivers of the Formula E Championship, which will have ten players that will be selected to compete with 20 racecar drivers.

The competition takes place in rFactor 2, which is a computer racing simulator. To be eligible to compete, gamers will have to use a steering wheel with pedals, as gamepads, joysticks, or other devices are not permitted.

It is imperative to install and use Teamspeak 3 communication software, as well as abiding the rules of the game, which can be read on the Road to Vegas website.

During the race, competitors will use Playseat Gaming rigs and use rFactor 2 software. Cloud Sport will monitor the competition to ensure that it is as realistic as possible and that it will be correctly regulated. In other words, no cheating or foul play will be possible.

The organizers of the competition have announced that the prize fund has $1 Million, but the entire sum will not go to a single player. Instead, it will be divided among the best-ranked gamers.

Most likely, the first three places will get money, while the others will settle for less. While not as exciting as the chance to win $1 Million from a virtual race, it still beats coming in second and getting a toaster.

This is not the first time when Formula E drivers have competed in virtual events with gamers, as this happens at each race weekend. However, the massive prize fund is surely going to attract attention.

The organizers of the event, held at the Sports Business Innovation Summit in January at The Venetian Hotel during the Consumer Electronics Show, hope that the competition will bring more fans to Formula E.
