Formula E is still far from being popular among motorsport enthusiasts. Yet if the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile wants to change that we’re pretty sure it’s not going to happen with that weird anthem they had Spanish singer and producer Nacho Cano create. Heck, if you’re planning to integrate that failed Daft Punk rhythm, why not ask them to do it instead.
Hey, we’re being subjective here sorry if you all don’t agree, but this tune is all sorts of grey shades. They should most likely reconsider the new anthem or perhaps create some sort of a new mix, because this won’t work.

The song titled “Nacho Cano Formula E Anthem” was released late last month on YouTube and in more than two weeks it managed to gather only about 54,000 views. Considering it took more than two weeks for us to listen to it the first time, it’s quite clear how popular it is.

Ignacio Cano Andres on his real name might have managed to sell over 25 million albums along his musical group Mecano so far, but this last single didn’t work out so good. The group is supposed to be the best-selling one in Spanish pop history, as in recent years Cano has achieved success through his collaborations with other artists. And since FIA commissioned him to produce this song it appears Nacho now is also a big fan of the E racing.

Formula E is not only a high speed car race powered by clean energy. Formula E is to the world of transportation what the iPhone has been to the world of communication. It will revolutionize the way we live, think and enjoy speed. It will also become the testing ground in which the next leaps toward a better and more intelligent world will take place,” the artist said in a press release.

Well, we agree with the necessity of a Formula E race, but we also believe it’s quite important how you sell the whole concept to the world. Luckily they also had some race scenes integrated in the video so at least we know it’s somewhat connected to the event. Other than that...
