Formula 1 Driver Daniel Ricciardo Knows There Are More Ways You Can Drive in LA

As you'd expect from somebody with so many sponsors, it's not all fun and games. Or maybe it is because even the little publicity stunts the companies who provide the financial support ask of them can sometimes be quite pleasing to make. And, in this case, even to watch.

That largely due to the involvement of Donut Media. You might remember them for doing really stupid but fun things such as putting two grannies inside a Lamborghini and setting them loose on the streets of Los Angeles, or using a Nissan 370Z to sprinkle some decorations on a tray of donuts. Yes, they're car guys, but also a little more than that.

For their latest video, they've received the help of Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian may not have won much on the track, but he's won a lot of people's hearts over for being a very fun and relaxed guy - which is exactly what this competition is in dire need of.

The script is simple and sees Daniel drive across Los Angeles - from East to West - together with his friends, changing his rides as he goes from one of the city's famous neighborhood to another. Of course, the cars aren't picked at random, but are chosen to reflect the characteristics of that area.

For instance, he starts off in East L.A. where there's a big Hispanic community, so he and his friends go for a set of lowriders. Despite the color of his car, that should get them through unnoticed. Once they crossed over into the home of Brenda and Brandon Walsh - that's a Beverly Hills 90210 reference, for all you youngsters out there - they needed something else. Something like a classic hot rod, with flames and everything.

Finally, the team makes it into Malibu, with its famous roads on the Pacific's shore that are a dream to drive on. That means it's time to forget about American cars and get some serious European sports models. They've got an Aston Martin, a McLaren, and a Maserati - maybe not all of them the best choice out there, but we're sure nobody complained (even though they must have flipped like crazy for the McLaren).

If you feel this video is too short, keep your eyes peeled on Donut Media's channel tomorrow, as they promised to release a longer version. Until then, click "play" down below and enjoy a brief incursion into the Los Angeles atmosphere courtesy of Donut Media and Daniel Ricciardo.
