While we’re not the only people that get excited while driving the Toyota GT 86, it seems that professional drivers seem to enjoy our beloved sportscar as well. And the latest connoisseur to join the group is Ben Collins, Top Gear’s former “Stig” and popular movie stunt driver.
Invited by Jalopnik to have a chat with its online readers, the British racing driver said that the Toyota GT 86 is a fun car that offers top bang for the buck. And we couldn’t agree more!
“That Toyota is a gem - if it had more power it would have to cost more too! I had tons of fun with it in Poland and was drifting everywhere on Poznan circuit. I'd love it to have more power YES - but i think its a fairly cheap upgrade, stick a Turbo on and rock on,” said Collins.
Introduced starting March 2012, the two-door coupe is powered by a 2.0-liter engine which delivers 197 hp (200 PS / 147 kW) and 151 lb-ft of torque (205 Nm). The GT 86 ir the Scion FR-S, as it’s sold in the United States, can be had with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
