The car world is literally going crazy about the new Aston Martin built for the 24th James Bond movie. And rumor has it a Fiat 500 will also play 007 movie role pretty soon.
Sure, the DB10 is cool, but is it as cool as the original DB5? No. Half the number, twice the car, if you ask us. The Spectre (yes, that's the DB10 concept car's real name) looks like the front end of the 2010 Lotus Elite Concept and the back of the Jaguar F-Type.

No, no, no, Aston! When it comes to Japes Bond cars, you should do a lot better than this. We need the tool of a gentleman spy, not another Michael Bay movie concept.

Check out the fanciful flying car that Fantomas, a French movie character, used in 1964. It starts out as a Citroen DS, but at the flip of a switch, wings come out from underneath, the tail splits in two and jets come out. Can your DB10 do that, Aston?

50 years later and Aston Martin still can't build a flying car, despite their collaboration with Daimler. How the heck is Bond going to get to from Rome to Mexico if his car can't swim or fly? He can't possibly use all-electric range or brushed aluminum trim to coax his enemies into surrendering.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
