Ford will revive the Bronco by 2020, and it will be built in Michigan, at the automaker’s facility in Wayne.
The news comes from Bill Johnson, the chairman of the UAW Local 900, who confirmed the decision made by the Blue Oval. Interestingly, the confirmation came in the form of a comment that was made by Republican nominee Donald Trump, who accused Ford of moving jobs outside the United States of America.

Trump accused the Ford Motor Company of moving “thousands of jobs” from Michigan because the corporation is shifting its small car manufacturing to other countries.

As usual, a reasonable person had their facts right, and Mr. Trump’s affirmations were proved wrong or partially incorrect by the chairman of UAW Local 900.

Johnson, the chairman of UAW Local 900, explained that they are not happy about seeing the small cars made by Ford being produced in Mexico, but he reminded everyone about the facts that matter and that are also correct. In Bill Johnson’s words, the “Ranger and Bronco coming to Michigan Assembly certainly secures the future of out people more than the Focus does.”

It is fair to note that Ford will stop making the Focus and the C-Max at its facility in Wayne, Michigan, but the shift will only come once the ongoing generation ends its production cycle.

Their successors destined for the North American will be made in Mexico, where the Blue Oval will get lower manufacturing costs.

From the start, Ford has underlined the fact that the Michigan Assembly plant will not lose a single job because of the change, Bronco6G notes. The Blue Oval explained that it would reveal “a new product” that will be made there starting in 2018, and another one is planned for introduction “no later than 2020.”

With the latest confirmation, it appears that the Ranger and the Bronco are the two products that Ford wants to build in the USA, right in the facility where it made the old Bronco models. Ford made its first Bronco in Wayne back in 1966, and the last one left the production line 20 years later.
