Ford Motor Co. announced that its US sales have gone up 18 percent in April 2013 compared to last year. With cars up 21 percent and both utilities and trucks up 16 percent, the Blue Oval posted best April sales since 2007.
In addition, the Fusion mid-size sedan and the Escape compact crossover models have reached April sales records thanks to increases of 24 and 52 percent respectively, while the F-Series pickup truck achieved its best sales for the same month since 2006. Ford reported yet another record with the Lincoln MKZ luxury executive, which returned its all-time best monthly sales performance with a little more than 4,000 vehicles delivered in April.

“We are working harder than ever to keep pace with record demand for our all-new, fuel-efficient Fusion and Escape – with sales growth particularly strong on the coasts,” said Ken Czubay, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “F-Series pickups also continue to build on their momentum as the housing and construction industries rebound.”

With sales up 19 percent compared to April 2012, the Ford F-Series, widely known as America’s best-selling pickup truck for 36 years, scored its 21st straight monthly sales increase.
