As we would expect, the Vignale concept and the real deal model have a lot of things in commom, especially in the design department. But that's a good thing.

The Ford Vignale Mondeo is available in four-door and estate body styles, but the real spoils are inside the cabin.

“The latest trends from the worlds of architecture and fashion combine to create an elegant place with a sense of luxury, and a feeling of timelessness for Ford Vignale Mondeo – alongside the very latest advanced technologies,” said Chris Bird, design director.

Ford says noise inside the Vignale Mondeo is an unknown term thanks to their Active Noice Cancellation Technology. It uses three microphones to monitor engine noise in the interior and annihilates unwanted vibration by sending opposing sound waves through the car's audio system.

Front passengers get Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion massage function created to prevent muscle fatigue by inflating 11 cushions to relax the occupants' backs.

Technology-wise, Ford gifted the Vignale Mondeo with the SYNC 2 infotainment system, Traffic Sign Recognition, Active City Stop and Dynamic LED lights. In the back, passengers will benefit from Ford's inflatable rear seatbelts, a feature worth having in the event of a crash.

Under the hood, the premium-aimed Vignale will host Ford's 210 HP 2.0-liter biturbo TDCI diesel mill or the 240 HP EcoBoost petrol plant. In addition, clients can check the box for an 187 HP petrol-electric hybrid powertrain.

On the outside, the Vignale Mondeo stands out with an upper grille stamped with the Vignale hexagonal design and chromed bars of the lower grille and door details, plus 18-inch Vignale alloy wheels.

Customers can order the Ford Vignale Mondeo at FordStores from May onwards, for a starting price of £29,045 ($43,487/€40,296 - at current exchange rates).
