Ford UK today announced prices of the 2009 Ka model, with the basic 1.2-liter gasoline powered engine version sold for 8,000 pounds. Although there are currently two engine configurations available, namely a 1.2-liter petrol 69 horsepower and a 1.3-liter diesel 75 horsepower, the parent company already confirmed plans to introduce a convertible and a high performance ST model.

The Studio Ford Ka model represents the base version of the new car and includes standard features such as Electric Power Assisted Steering, ABS, driver and right passenger front airbags, six speakers, MP3 player and height-adjustable steering wheel. Ford Ka Studio's prices start from 7,995 pounds and may vary depending on the optionals.

The second variant, dubbed Style, is customized with powered and heated side mirrors painted in body's color, electric front windows, remote locking, rear headrests and driver seat height adjust. The Style+ version includes all the standard features of Style, but is upgraded with air conditioning and heated windscreen.

The ZETEC is the top Ford Ka version, with 15-inch allow wheels, front fog lamps, remote locking and upgraded dashboard instruments. Ford expects to see ZETEC the most popular version of the 2009 Ford Ka line-up, with more than 40 percent of sales, according to a press statement of the American company.

“We’re really excited about the launch of the all-new Ka. It gives us a great opportunity to appeal to an even wider audience and keep the Ka as Britain’s top super-mini,” Ford of Britain’s marketing director, Mark Simpson, said.

Ford Ka will reach the UK market in January, 2009 but the American carmaker has yet to reveal the prices for the US versions.
