Ford is pushing the global development pedal to the metal. In the last few days, we’ve seen that the Mondeo and Fusion will be replaced with an Evos-inspired vehicle, the Kuga and the Escape will merge into a vehicle that uses the same name as the latter. The Fiesta and the Focus have already gone global and so on.
Well, that “so on”, now will have a new translation, in the form of the full-size Transit van, which will be brought to the US. According to the UAW (earlier today, another Ford-UAW contract scoop revealed the 5.8-liter 2013 Shelby Mustang GT 500), the Transit will also be built in America (Ford Tough, of course). The vehicle will come to life at the Kansas City site, where the F-150 pickup is produced.
The vehicle will be renamed as the T-Series, in order to avoid confusion with the Transit Connect, a much smaller van, as Car and Driver reports. Thus, the range will follow the naming structure of the F-Series trucks line-up.
