The 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed gathered a great number of iconic vehicles in England, ranging from classic racers to the latest concept cars. No surprised there. But there's at least one contraption that probably attracted a lot more attention - the 1994 Ford Transit Supervan 3.
Not the kind of people/goods carrier you'd expect to see around town, the Supervan can be rated as an actual van only by its boxy body shell. Everything underneath is racing technology, including the legendary 3.0-liter V6 Cosworth engine. Now almost 20 years old, the Supervan 3 was brought to Goodwood this year and raced on the famed course by former BTCC driver Anthony Reid.
“Over the last 20 years of racing cars, Ford’s SuperVan 3 is by far the craziest vehicle I have ever driven. It’s ludicrously loud, incredibly quick and received masses of attention from the Goodwood crowd,” said Reid.
