Ford Transit Passing Skoda Octavia RS on Nurburgring Goes All Out

One of the most enticing aspects of Nurburgring Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) events is the randomness of the lineup. And we've brought along a piece of footage that demonstrates the diversity of the Ring population.

The video we have here showcases all kind of machines one would never expect to find on a track. Some of these contraptions are far from ready to jump from one rumble-strip to another, but their drivers couldn't care less, since they're at least visiting the Green Hell.

Then again, a few of these vehicles are up to the task and the example we highlighted in the title is as good as any. However, the Blue Oval van that leaves the Octavia RS behind is actually a Transit Custom.

Those of you who are in a hurry and simply want to check out the piece of action mentioned in the title can head over to the 2:17 point of the clip. Nevertheless, we'd stick around for the rest of the video, since this is packed with wacky Ring action.

Speaking of which, we'll remind you that the randomness also targets the professional side of the infamous German track. No, we're not talking about the Nurburgring VLN racing, even though we recently mentioned this kind of event, as a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup went through a crash that saw the racecar flipping at least ten times before coming to a halt.

Instead, we're talking about automakers using the Nordschleife to put their prototypes through their paces. Carmakers only rent out the entire track on rare occasions, such as those that involve setting lap times.

In fact, most of the vehicle testing is done during the Industry Pool days, which means that prototypes often meet on the track. And we've talked about such a moment earlier today, when we showed you the 2020 Porsche 911 chasing down the C8 Chevrolet Corvette on the circuit.
