Ford Motor Company has announced that production at its Dearborn and Kansas truck plants will be halted for 13 weeks. During the downtime, Ford will retool the facilities to begin production of the brand new 2015 F-Series pickup truck, which will feature an aluminum body.
Production at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan will be halted for 11 weeks, while the factory near Kansas City will be halted for two weeks, Ford said yesterday according to Automotive News. The downtime is expected to reduce Ford’s pre-tax profit by $800 million this year, analysts told our source.

Introduced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, the 2015 Ford F-150 will arrive with an aluminum alloy body, a brand new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 11 class-exclusive features, including 360-degree camera view, remote tailgate, Trailer Hitch Assist and Smart Trailer Tow Module.
