Ford Shuffles Top Management in Asia Pacific and Africa Region

Ford announced today a series of management changes that are aimed at boosting the company’s expansion plan in the Asia Pacific and Africa region.As part of the management shuffle, Jeffrey Shen, president of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA), will retire on December 31. CFMA is a Chinese joint venture between Ford, Mazda and Changan Auto.

He will be replaced by Marin Burela, who will become responsible for supervising the JV’s continued expansion, which currently includes the building of a third assembly site and preparations for a second engine plant, both located in Chongqing, China. He will be appointed starting November 1. The executive previously served as president and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand.

Robert Graziano will take Burela’s role, leading the company’s expansion in Australia and the market introduction of the new Ford Ranger pickup, one of the most important new products of the One Ford plan. He will also fill in his new position on November 1. Graziano previously held multiple leadership positions in the Americas, Asia and Africa.

Hinrichs will keep his current responsibilities and also will assume additional ones as chairman and CEO of Ford China, effective November 1. Ford’s Asia Pacific and Africa region covers markets on three continents, including Australia, China, India, Thailand and South Africa.
