Ford Ranger Raptor Would Be an Incredible Mario Kart, So Would Others

About a week ago, a special interpretation of the Ferrari SF90 took to our screens: the plug-in hybrid Prancing Horse got miniaturized, digitalized, and shot into the world of Mario Kart. Because you seem to have enjoyed it, here are some more real-world cars turned into video game karts.

Mario Kart is one of the oldest video games around. The first time people heard about Nintendo’s title was way back in 1992 when Super Mario Kart was released. Since then, the franchise grew so tall and wide that it now covers consoles, arcade, and mobile devices.

Interestingly enough, the game even made its first steps into the real, tangible world with the release of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit earlier this year. For fans, this title is the top of the line in the industry, blending augmented reality with real, physical, Mario or Luigi remote-controlled sets.

But we’re not here to talk about that. As said, thanks to British broker Select Car Leasing, we now know how Mario himself would look like behind the wheel of a Ferrari. But what about the other characters in the game?

Well, most of them got their rides upgraded, although we must admit the reason why a certain car was chosen for a certain character is not entirely clear – some pairs fit, others less so.

For instance, bad boy Bowser seems like a perfect match for a Ford Ranger Raptor, while Donkey Kong couldn’t look better than it does inside a Land Rover Defender. And Luigi, well, he too seems to be getting along just fine with a Tesla.

Princess Peach, on the other hand, doesn’t appear to be very comfortable in a Rolls-Royce Dawn, “an emblem of spontaneity,” while Toad seems small even by smart fortwo standards.

Now, don’t go looking for these rides in a Mario Kart game, because you won’t find them. But wouldn’t it be nice if you did?
