Ford has a habit of coming up with strange but cool names for their market strategies. There’s “One Ford” which as the name suggests is their initiative to make products global. And now the Chinese market has seen the “15x15” promise, which pledges 15 new cars there by 2015.
Starting with Auto China 2012, taking place in Shanghai in just three weeks, the American carmaker will introduce a range of new SUVs, including the 2013 Escape based Kuga, and the all-new 2012 Focus.
"We have big plans for China and we are working hard to secure the avid interest of Chinese consumers with four stunning, new Ford vehicles loaded with green and smart technologies," said Joe Hinrichs, president of Ford Asia Pacific and Africa. "From the expansion of our latest state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Chongqing to the rapid continued expansion of a range of vehicles in every class through the Ford 15X15 promise, Ford is serious about aggressive growth this year in China, the largest car market in the world."
