There probably hasn’t been a Ford model launch as anticipated as the one of the Bronco in years, but the wait is almost over: next spring, in just a few month’s time, the nameplate will be revived, aiming to capture at least as much public attention as the one-that-once-was did.
Ford is currently engaged in all sorts of Bronco-related activities, from racing the R version in the Baja 1000 (it lost) to selling all sorts of related merchandise on its Amazon store.
That’s right, there’s a dedicated Bronco store on Amazon, and it went live just in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The offer is quite comprehensive, considering the fact the nameplate has been off the market for about 23 years. It includes everything from gifts to toys, going all the way through “authentic Dennis Carpenter restoration parts” befitting the first generation of the model.
Why does Ford advertise this Amazon store? Well, says Casie OcanBa, Ford global brand licensing manager, because “Bronco fan base is such a loyal one.”
Despite being loyal, this fanbase is not probably all that large at this point, but given the interest in the revived SUV, chances are it will grow significantly starting next year.
Previewed by the said Bronco R, the street version of the car will be offered in both four-door configuration, but also two-door, an important nod the original off-roader of the 1960s,
There are no clues yet as to the capabilities of the machine, its powertrains and not even its looks, but given the notoriety of the name it’s likely it will be one of the smashing hits of the Blue Oval in recent years.
But before we get there, if you’re a Bronco fan, or at least plan on becoming one, make sure you head over to this link and check out what Ford has to offer. The carmaker says there are even things dedicated to the Bronco R there.
