Ford Performance Vehicle's GT Concept Heading for Production

Ford Performance Vehicle (FPV) which is the official tuner of Ford’s Australian division, has received approval for production of its GT concept which was unveiled last month at the 2011 Australian Motor Show. The concept is based on the actual FPV’s existing GT muscle sedan, which itself is based on the Ford Falcon.

The car will get a unique version of the Mustang Boss’ 5.0-liter V-8 completed by a Eaton supercharger. In addition, the concept also featured a track-tuned suspension setup, wider tires and updated brake system. The car has blown away its audience, gaining a lot of positive feedback just after its unveiling. The car was deeply appreciated by fans and show enthusiasts, who unanimously decided that the built of the car was a must.

The FPV has received an all black paintwork with only 125 units of the current GT model being manufactured. The GT's supercharged Boss V8 will develop  450 hp and 420 pound-feet of torque.

The FPV GT Black production version will get 19-inch black alloy wheels and black tail pipes. Inside, the FPV GT the manufacturer has installed display screen with a reverse camera.

In order to add a bit of an elegant touch, the GT also received some leather trimmings. The sad part is that none of the serious modifications which were displayed on the concept made it to production. But as a comforting fact, FPV insists that some of the concept features may appear on the future models.
