Here at autoevolution, we love every car that's wearing the ST badge, whether it's a Ford Focus or a Fiesta. Add a pack of goodies from Ford Performance into the mix, and you get a bunch of happy and excited petrolheads.
Now, can the Focus ST really get better in terms of performance? Well, of course, especially when Ford Performance is involved.

It all comes down to a kit that allows customers to get more performance out of their vehicle.

You see, the idea of a street-legal, reliable, mostly stock 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making nearly 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) of torque might have seemed ludicrous ten years ago, but we live different times today.

Therefore, the components of the MP275 Focus ST performance upgrade combine to produce up to 296 lb-ft (401 Nm) of torque with 93-octane fuel, but the power output is also affected. In a positive way, of course.

The heart of the system is a performance ECU calibrated to deliver a more aggressive engine mapping program, including a quicker throttle response, without compromising durability. As a result, overall power output goes up from the stock 252 horsepower to 275 horsepower. Not bad, not bad at all.

Other parts in the upgrade kit include a Mountune induction kit, high-flow intercooler, and mTune handset, along with the complete installation hardware.

The package can only be handled and fitted on your Focus ST by an authorized Ford Performance technician, which will allow the car to retain its factory warranty, a solution that will no doubt please a lot of Focus ST owners looking to install this performance pack.

Ford Performance also tells us they tested the bundle "on the notorious British B roads, Los Angeles freeways and countless laps of the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife."

It's not the first time the Focus ST was rewarded with engine tuning packs. A couple of months ago, UK-based tuning firm Graham Goode Racing came up with an aftermarket option that took power to 296 horsepower.
