Ford Offers Free Taxi Packages In Germany

American manufacturer Ford announced today it will keep offering the taxi and car rental packages for the Mondeo, S-MAX and Ford Galaxy "free of charge". The offer already existed, as it was launched in October 2009, but is now extended "until further notice". The offer is valid for the two taxi and car rental packages offered by Ford in collaboration with the Oldenburg Company INTAX Innovative Automotive Solutions.

For taxis, Ford is offering roof sign pre-installation with bracket for "Kienzle Argo" roof sign, taximeter prearmament, "Silent Alarm" and over-head console (Taxi Package 1). In addition to the above features, the second taxi package adds additional color foiling in Taxi "light ivory", including the bumper.

For rental companies, the packages comprise radio pre-fitting, overhead console to accommodate the distance meter and odometer-prearmament (package 1). The second package adds additional color foiling.

"This attractive offer is also valid for the new Ford S-MAX and the new Ford Galaxy, coming in mid-2010 in Germany on the market. For customers, there are still price advantages due to the action package of up to 990 euros. In addition, the Ford-Werke GmbH recommends that its dealers, taxi and car rental companies provide a discount of 20 percent to the base vehicle," the carmaker says in the release announcing the offer.

According to Ford, both the taxi and the rental packages are provided for the Ford Transit and Transit Connect, but at an extra cost. The taxi packages cost 495 and 990 euros, while the rental ones stand at 395 and 890 euros.
