Based on the Mustang GT and available as a fastback or soft-top convertible, the Mustang55 speaks for itself. For both the peeps at Ford and enthusiasts, it’s a celebration of 55 years since the Mustang entered the scene.
Presented here in European specification, the Mustang55 features side stripes and bonnet stripes, special badging, and a well-equipped interior. 19-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black and pony badges in black are also featured. The raised trunk-lid spoiler, believe it or not, is listed as an optional extra.

Carbon-fiber inserts bathe the cabin with a go-faster feeling, the gearshift knob comes with unique styling, and Alcantara wraps the seats and interior door panels. SYNC 3 infotainment on the Mustang55 comes from the get-go with DAB+ radio, 12 speakers from B&O, the FordPass Connect on-board modem, Remote Start, Remote Door Lock/Unlock, and Vehicle Locator.

The world’s best-selling sports car is also available with a 2.3-liter turbo, and for the 2020 model year, the EcoBoost-engined Mustang can be had with active valves for the performance exhaust system. A few exterior colors are also new for 2020 in Europe, including finishes such as Lucid Red, Iconic Silver, Twister Orange, and Grabber Lime.

“Mustang is one of an exclusive group of vehicles to achieve more than half a century of continuous production, and customers’ appetites for the world’s best-selling sports car show no sign of waning,”
said Roelant de Waard, vice president of Marketing, Sales & Service at Ford of Europe. “Our new Mustang55 is the essence of Mustang, combining exciting performance, bold design, and comfort-enhancing technologies.”

The Bullitt special edition also soldiers on, packing 460 PS and 529 Nm of torque from an upgraded Coyote V8. Available in Shadow Black or Dark Highland Green, the Bullitt comes with Torq Thrust wheels, red brake calipers from Brembo, a bespoke grille up front, and green stitching.

2018 marks the fourth consecutive year of the Mustang as the world’s best-selling sports coupe, selling 113,066 examples of the breed all across the world. In the first half of 2019, Europe accounted for 5,500 units of the pony car from Flat Rock, Michigan.
