Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Bitten by Geiger

For those of you who love muscle cars, but feel like you need even more body building under the hood, GeigerCars has prepared a doped version of the 540 HP Mustang Shelby GT500.

The German tuner has played with the car’s 5.4 liter V8 engine, strapping a 3.3 litre compressor that offers a 1.6 bar boost pressure to the unit. The powerplant also received larger throttle valves, a redesigned injection system, a new air flow meter and a bespoke cylinder. The V8 now uses an intercooler and other additional cooling systems. In addition to that, the car features a new exhaust system. All these mods have brought the powerplant’s output to a monstrous 810 HP (at 6,700 rpm), while its maximum torque reaches 945 Nm (at 4,300 rpm).

The gearbox was fitted with reinforced components in order to cope with all the power and its 5th and 6th gears are now shorter. It communicates with the engine via a new 3-disc carbon clutch.

The Mustang uses a special racing chassis and a Panhard rod and rides on 20 inch OZ allot rims, wrapped in Michelin high performance tires. The Cobra body builder can bite up to 345 km/h and uses a high-spec braking system featuring 6 piston calipers and 380 mm drilled discs for the front axle - slotted brake discs are available as an option.

Perhaps this Mustang Shelby version would also put the fear of God into the US racing legend Carroll Shelby,” stated GeigerCars’ press release. However, Shelby might be too busy to drive these days, as he is probably trying to solve some copyright issues.
