Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Drag Races Dodge Charger SRT 392, The Gap Is Massive

Creating the proper mix for a spicy drag race isn't easy. For starters, the vehicles that line up next to each other need to have comparable quarter-mile performance, but the drivers also need to be on top of their game and we're talking about the RT (Reaction Time) here. Well, we've recently come across a race that kept the audience on its toes from start to finish, so we had to share this with you.

Sure, 1,320 feet race is won based on the ET (Elapsed Time), which doesn't take the RT into account (the clock starts ticking only after the car takes off), but the visual spectacle is compromised if both drivers don't kick off at the same time.

Fortunately, this wasn't the case with the hooners we want to show you and we're talking about aficionados driving a Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and a Dodge Charger SRT 392.

The Mopar machine came in factory stock form, which meant its naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 delivers 485 ponies.

However, we can't say the same thing about the pony. In fact, an YouTuber claiming to be the owner of the Shelby took to the comments section of the video depicting the sprinting battle, talking about the mods fitted to the muscle car.

And it seems that the atmospheric 5.2-liter V8 of the Blue Oval machine has been gifted with custom bits touching the air intake, exhaust (headers, catback) and the ECU. And, to put the extra muscle to the asphalt, the 'Stang had been fitted with Nitto NT05 rear tires.

When it comes to the aural side of the battle, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 clearly dominated the Charger SRT 392. And that's because the combination between the already-screaming flat-plane crank V8 and the said exhaust mods meant the growl of the Ford filled up the entire drag strip.

Oh, and we also have to explain that the four-door SRT is capable of delivering mid-12s 1/4-mile passes.

Speaking of which, the battle that awaits you in the piece of footage below took place in Canda, with the two muscle beasts having gotten together at the Mission Raceway Park.
