After winning the musclecar sales battle in May, the Ford Mustang scored a crushing victory against its main rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, last month, outselling the GM-developed vehicle by more than 2,000 units.
With 9,243 units delivered in June 2013, 9.9% down when compared to the same month last year, Ford sold 2,007 more Mustangs than Chevrolet did with its Camaro, which reached only 7,236 new owners last month (20.7% down from June 2012, 693 less than May 2013).
As far as the Dodge Challenger is concerned, Chrysler’s musclecar saw delivery of 5,101 examples last month, up a remarkable 27.2% compared to June 2012, but 436 less than its May 2013 sales.
Following last month’s deliveries, the Ford Mustang continues to ride atop the year-to-date ranking with 43,111 units sold in 2013, while the Chevrolet Camaro is trailing with 42,312 examples. Dodge only managed to sell 29,982 Challengers so far this year.
