Ford is clearly making efforts to turn the next-generation Mustang into a global vehicle. The simple fact that they are considering exporting the current model to places like Europe shows Blue Oval executives are willing to invest in a global performance car image.
The Mustang is not only migrating towards the Germans, the French and the Brits, but also towards the people of Asia. Ford has just announced that the Mustang will be on sale in the Philippines, with first deliveries taking place this September.
It will be sold with a 3.7-liter V6 with 305 horsepower for PHP 2,499,000 (USD59,900), or with the bigger 5.0-liter V8 for PHP 2,899,000 (USD69,400).
“The introduction of the iconic Ford Mustang follows our ongoing commitment to continue bringing world-class vehicles to the Philippines,” said Randy Krieger, president, Ford Group Philippines. “We’re confident the Mustang will be an immediate and long-lasting success in the Philippines, attracting many new loyal customers who will be absolutely thrilled to own this fantastic car.”
