Ford is preparing a facelift of the Mustang, one of its iconic models, if not the most famous and appreciated car it makes.
The upcoming 2018 Mustang facelift has been spotted by our spy photographers, which have supplied us the first set of images of this model. While the prototype is covered in a thick and intricate layer of camouflage, we can still spot some new details that will be changed through the restyling.

First of all, we can observe that Ford has taken great care of covering the headlights and taillights. This means that the facelift of the Mustang will have new lighting units, which will be changed both on the front and the rear.

Also in the back, we notice a new bumper design, which leaves more to be seen regarding the exhausts, but do no take the units you see in the pictures as the final ones.

However, it is worth noting that the prototype you see in the photo gallery has Michigan license plates that are attributed to a manufacturer. This makes it more than evident that this vehicle is owned and operated by the Blue Oval.

The rest of the Mustang’s body is covered in a layer of camouflage that has a pattern made to deceive the eye of the beholder. We can observe the fenders have remained muscular, and that the front grille and hood might have also been changed on the facelift prepared for the Mustang range.

The front grille seems to be as big as ever, and the white and black mesh that covers it and the headlights lead us to believe that Ford has introduced a more pronounced “nose” for the Mustang.

The interior of Ford’s facelifted pony car is not visible in these first images of the upcoming Mustang. However, you can expect it to have an updated infotainment unit, along with more connectivity and tech options, along with a 10-speed automatic gearbox as optional equipment.
