Adapted from a tabletop role-playing game released in 1988, Cyberpunk 2077 will roll out in September 2020 on Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox. One of the most anticipated video games of the year also includes a suite of vehicles, both technologized on the inside and dystopian in their design because the world looks very different so far in the future.
Mercenary protagonist V can be seen driving the Quadra V-Tech in various teasers of Cyberpunk 2077, a Lamborghini Countach that hardly has anything in common with the original from the 1970s. Glimpses of an armorclad military SUV and a 1970 AMC Javelin have also been offered, but one vehicle the game won’t feature is this Mustang with police livery.

Rendered by Chinese freelance artist Phoenix Bai, the project’s title is “2077” as a tribute to the video game that has received more pre-orders than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The design of the wheels is fateful to the cyberpunk aesthetics we all know and love, and the black-and-white theme with Japanese symbols for police leave no second guessing about this pony’s purpose and the driver’s job. As you’d expect, the 5.0 badging on the front fenders and the GT on the rear point out to the V8 engine option.

The Coyote series currently churns out 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque on premium fuel (454 PS and 310 Nm) but the Bullitt Mustang has a little more to offer thanks to Ford Performance know-how. The special edition that will be retired at the end of the 2020 model year has 475 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque (469 PS and 317 Nm).

A leaked document with the 2021 model year Mustang lineup further reveals that FoMoCo will pull the plug on the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R in favor of the Mach 1. It’s understood the newcomer will retain the go-faster improvements of the Bullitt, and with a bit of luck, a different front fascia could separate the Mach 1 from the GT and GT Premium.
