Ford Mustang Baja Racer Rendered As the Latest Jportscar (Jacked-Up Sportscar)

When it comes to future trends of the car world, jacked-up sportscars clearly have a place on the podium. And we're here to give you the latest manifestation of people's desire to mix velocity thrills with the kind of go-anywhere attitude.

We're talking about the rendering above, which shows a previous-generation Mustang that's been given the Baja treatment. Since the S197 'Stang will always be remembered as some sort of last bastion of the live rear axle (remember, we're talking speed demons here), digital artist Kd Kalim using his pixel-rearranging skills to also gift this Ford's front axle with such a setup.

So, would the creature we have here be able to outgun a Ford F-150 Raptor? We can't tell, but it certainly looks like it would attempt to pull such a stunt.

From the hefty protection element up front, to the bead lock wheels using massive offroad tires, this pony is as wild and free as they get. In fact, if they stopped tearing Mad Max's car apart five minutes after the movie kicks off, we'd be glad to see the next installment of the franchise gifting the (off)road warrior with such a machine.

As for the trend mentioned in the intro, it's not just the digital world that bring us such contraptions. For instance, jacked-up Miatas and Porsche 911s seem to be turning into a thing nowadays. In this infancy stage, small shops are converting older models, thus keeping costs in check, but we're sure this will change in a few years' time.

Given the kind of disconnected driving experiences SUVs provide and the frustration you get when you can't use your sportscar anymore because there's a crack in the asphalt, we totally get it. And we promise to return with more of these jportscars, be they real or virtual.
