That's more than three times the price of a normal 2015 Ford Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition, which translates to mad spending. But nevertheless, that's money well spent considering proceeds benefit the Get Your Heart Racing program in support for the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute.

The video below is evidence that the car in question was a pretty hot catch that electrified the Las Vegas auction block, but the man that ultimately spent the most dough for the special pony is called Jack Fairchild.

What did Jack actually get for that big lump o' green dollar bills? Well, the 50 Years Limited Edition is more or less based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback kitted with the Performance Package. But that's where similarities end because the model is beautified by an instantly recognizable appearance.

Aside from the 5-liter Coyote V8 packing 435 ponies and 400 pound-feet of torque, this car is laden with the best the options list has to offer, with the addition of a few unique bits and bobs. The only options 50 Year Limited Edition customers have to decide on are the exterior finish (Kona Blue or Wimbledon White, that's all) and on the transmission option (a six-speed stick shift or a slick automatic).

“We’re thrilled the No. 1,964 50 Years Limited Edition Mustang captured so much attention at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction,” declared Jim Owens, Ford Shelby, Boss and Mustang marketing manager. “Ford’s long-standing relationship with Barrett-Jackson gives us the opportunity to benefit charities like the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute through the sale of exciting and rare Ford vehicles.”
