In total, the automotive conglomerate boasts with 2,480,942 US deliveries in 2014, while December sales clocked 220,671 vehicles, a 1 percent gain in volume over December 2013. As per percentage points, the Ford brand was up a mere 0.4 percent, with Lincoln surprising everyone yet again with a 21 percent hike.
The highlight, however, is the F-Series pickup truck family, which managed to move 74,355 units in December and 753,851 examples for all of 2014. Alas, the workhorse remains the best-selling vehicle for the 33rd straight year and best-selling truck in the US for the 38th year. The 2015 Ford Mustang was also a big surprise for the Blue oval, with December sales hiking 66 percent over the same month of 2013.
Lincoln sales of 9,690 vehicles translated to an increase of 21 percent versus last December for the brand’s best December results since 2009. Last but not least, Lincoln sold 94,474 vehicles throughout 2014, making it the best year since 2008 for the brand, with Navigator sales up 90 percent in December.
