Ford has announced the introduction of a special edition model of the 2014 Mustang in Japan. Named “Mustang V8 GT Coupe the Black”, the musclecar will be limited to only 40 units.
As the name says, the limited edition Mustang is finished in a Jet Black exterior and comes with unique 19-inch aluminum wheels with black accents and glass roof with a three-layer structure that blocks 90 percent of infrared rays and 96 percent of ultraviolet rays.
Motivation is provided by the familiar 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine that sends 426 horsepower and 529 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The Mustang V8 GT Coupe the Black will go on sale from March 15 and will cost JPY5.05 million, which means about $50,000 at current exchange rates.
Is this Japan-exclusive black pony gorgeous or what? Why can’t Ford release a similar edition in the United States as well? We bet it would be quite popular, even with the next-generation 2015 Mustang only months away.
