Ford Kuga Gets New Powertrains in the UK

The British division of Ford announced today it has added new powertrain options to the Kuga range, that come with improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and higher performances. For example, Ford included the 2.0-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engine with 163 PS and 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi engine with 140 PS.

Newly added features also include Ford’s PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox available for the all-wheel-drive models.

"The Ford Kuga has been a huge hit with our retail customers and these powertrain upgrades will only help strengthen its appeal. Kuga is recognised for its attractive styling and the new luxury 'Individual' trim is ideal for those customers wanting to make the ultimate image statement," Gill Palmer, Kuga product manager, Ford of Britain, said in a release.

The 2WD Kuga fitted with the new 140 PS version of the 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi engine achieves a CO2 output of 156 g/km, while the 140 PS and 163 PS AWD models with manual transmission deliver 159 g/km, which can be translated into a six percent reduction compared to the previous 136 PS engine.

The Kuga also benefits now from the efficiency advantages delivered by the Ford PowerShift gearbox. CO2 emissions for the 140 PS and 163 PS AWD diesel automatic models are 179 g/km.

Other features available as an option on the Titanium series include:
  • Unique 'Individual' Front Grille
  • Body Coloured Side Skirts and Wheel Arches
  • 19" Alloy Wheels
  • Roof Rails
  • Privacy Glass
  • Premium Ebony Leather, Scuff Plates and Floor Mats with 'Individual' Logo
  • Aluminium Pedals (manual transmission only)
  • High Gloss Black trim
The updated Kuga range will go on sale in early August from £20,495.
