Ford Is Going Global

The Detroit Auto Show next month is said to be a very big opportunity for the Ford brand to show of their new global design language creation in the automotive industry. The car that will get the “ new look” is said to be the 2010 Ford Taurus, but Ford refused to unveil the identity of the vehicle.

"If you look at our lineup in North America and what has to be replaced, you can put two and two together ", Ford design chief J Mays was quoted by Autonews as saying. Well you heard the man, but don't get your hopes to high, we all know how the car manufacturers change their mind.
Ford hopes that the car debuting in the Detroit Auto Show would be a big innovation for the global design campaign.

The engineers at Ford have been working hard to develop the global design for the Ford brand, to create an evolution to the success of the Ford Europe models' kinetic design. The new design is targeted at a more pure breed sport appearance for the Ford brand and is centered around Fiesta and Mondeo, which have recorded record sales on the European auto market.

The new design for the Ford brand "is going to have the best attributes of kinetic, but I would say that it is going to be possibly a little more simple, a little more elegant," the same source quoted Mays. We all just hope that Ford will not make any compromise to the mechanical part of the car either, we wouldn't like driving a cart, even if it is good looking and blends with the soul.

The post-kinetic global transformation that Ford so desperately seem to adopt will be seen on Taurus-sized vehicles and smaller and will probably differ from continent to continent. In North America the magic touch of Ford's post-kinetic design team will be given to the Focus and the Fusion in the next decade.
