Ford is America's Best-Selling Brand for Fourth Consecutive Year

Ford Motor Company is America's best-selling brand for the fourth consecutive year, with US sales in 2013 totaling nearly 2.5 million vehicles - also the manufacturer's best annual sales since 2006.

The brand's retail sales increased by 14 percent last year, with pickup trucks leading the pack with a 17 percent growth, followed by utilities (up 13 percent) and cars (up 12 percent), the Detroit-based automaker reports.

As for December 2013, Ford sold 218,058 vehicles, two percent more compared to the same month last year. The Ford Fusion sedan sold 24,408 examples for a record December (up 27 percent), while annual sales of 295,280 units (up 22 percent) have set an annual record for the nameplate.

Same goes for the Fiesta and the Escape, with yearly records of 71,073 (25% increase) and 295,993 (13% gain) units. Moving over to the F-Series, the pickup truck sold 763,402 examples, its best year since 2006.
