Ford Invests in Brazil Plant to Build Next Ka

The current ford Ka is already a bit old, if you can believe it... or not, and the 2010 Ford Start concept shown in Beijing last year actually shows the next version, coming in 2014. As part of their global ambitions, the little three-door will be built at a number of facilities around the world, one of them being in Brazil.

According to Inside Line, the $446 million Ford announced it would invest there is meant in order to secure manufacturing of the Ka in South America, from where it will even be imported Stateside. It will go into production at the Sao Bernardo do Campo plant in Brazil starting with late 2013 or early 2014.

This piece of information is actually a bit controversial, since Sao Bernardo currently produces Courier and F-250 models. In addition to Brazil, the Ka will also be built in China and India.
